Wanted: researcher!
RAG has obtained funding from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust to investigate the practice of immigration detention as it affects individuals living in Northern Ireland.
This research will trace the experiences of individuals detained in Northern Ireland as they move through the detention process so as to present a series of eye witness accounts of the different stages e.g. initial questioning and detention; transfer to PSNI custody; transfer to GB detention centre; release/removal, etc.
The researcher will assist RAG in producing an illustrated, colour information booklet, which we hope will serve as a compelling campaigning tool.
Deadline for applications is 9am Monday 8th March 2010.
For more information, contact Liz Griffith at Law Centre (NI) 9024 4401.
We look forward to getting this exciting project underway!
